To Your Frequently Asked Questions

Is Massage Therapy the right career for me?
Massage is a physically-demanding and exceptionally rewarding career. If you love to keep active and share your passion for health and wellness, then yes Massage Therapy is right for you.

What makes your school better than others?
There are many excellent schools out there! It's not about who is better, but rather, what you are looking for. Our College is perfect for any student who is looking for:
  - small class sizes
  - caring and supportive instructors
  - a program that focuses on personal development as well as
    professional
  - the flexibility to choose between onsite or distance learning
  - the ability to progress through our diploma levels when
    you are ready
  - options to transfer in from another College or complete a
    skills assessment for advanced placement
  - affordable tuition with payment options
  - eligibility for student loans
  - the chance to complete practicum experience in our
    onsite multidisciplinary Wellness Centre

What are your acceptance standards?
Level 1 - 1000 hrs
A high school diploma or equivalency is requested. If you do not have either, we are happy to sit down and discuss other options. Mature students may be given credit for related experience. Essentially, we just want to ensure that you are willing and able to commit to the program. Demonstration of your commitment will help with your acceptance and ensure your success in the program.
Level 2 - Upgrade to 2200 hrs
Proof of at least 1000 hours of comparable Massage Therapy education is requested. This is usually provided via transcripts and course descriptions. If you are a practicing therapist and feel that you can challenge our Level 1 exams and be successful in our Level 2 program, we are happy to discuss these options with you.

What if I don't want to continue my education after the Level 1 program?
Not a problem! After completing Level 1 (1000 hrs), you are eligible for registration with the NHPC (Natural Health Practitioners of Canada) and can begin practicing as a Registered Massage Therapist. If and when you choose to upgrade your education, we will still be here! Your prior education with us will mean a seamless trasition into our Level 2 Upgrade program.

Typically, what ages and levels of experience are your students?
From right out of high school to mature students and already practicing therapists, we welcome all students. We believe that acceptance of our differences is integral to personal and professional development. Every student in the class has something to offer. And together, our students find that the learning experience is greatly enriched by each student's different backgrounds and experiences.

How do I decide between the Onsite Program and the Distance/Onsite Combined Program?
The first question you need to ask is, "What kind of learner am I?"
If you are someone who needs to listen to instruction and interact
with the instructors and fellow students, then the
Onsite Program is right for you.
If you prefer self-paced learning and enjoy the flexibility of
doing your work when you want, then the
Distance/Onsite Combined Program is right for you.
*It is important to note that our Distance/Onsite
Combined Program still has a lot of onsite hands-on instruction.

Can I switch between Onsite and Distance learning?
It is usually easier on you to stick with the program format that you have enrolled in. That being said, we understand that life circumstances change or that you may find the format you originally chose may not work for you. We are open to having you change between the 2 learning formats, with justifiable reason and an interview with a program facilitator.

How do I apply?
Our application package is available on our website. Click on the 'apply now' link on the right of the navigation bar at the top of this page. There, you will find the application package or skills assessment that you need. Once you complete the application or skills assessment, you can e-mail it or bring it in to our location. We will then need to set up an in-person interview to ensure that the program is right for you.
